Bling your brand this Christmas

The holiday season is just around the corner. It’s a time when we often like to add a little sparkle to our wardrobe and extra Christmas flair to our homes. But have you thought about how you could add some Christmas cheer to your business messaging and online presence AND stay on brand? Let me show you how easy you can achieve a classy, on-brand Christmas vibe, without it looking like Santa’s elves vomited on your Insta feed.

Five easy steps to bring some bling to your brand this Christmas

Step One: Start with your current brand

As always, I would recommend you start with the basics of your brand. What is it’s core colours and messages? You’ll find this super easy if you know what your brand archetype is. If you haven’t had a chance to do the ‘brand archetype quiz, do it now. It’ll only take a moment….

Step Two: Pick a colour

Take a look at your existing brand colours and choose one to highlight for the holidays. If you have completed your brand archetype quiz and have received the full palette for your type, you can select a colour from within your broader colour range.

Step Three: Texture baby

Each of the brand types has a series of textures that best suit each brand. I’ve created handy little graphics below to show you what I mean. Take a moment to go through these examples to see what resonates with you.

Step Four: Get graphic

Okay, not ‘that’ kind of graphic. But now you have a bit of an idea of the colours and textures you want to use, start pulling together the elements you need for your graphics.

To make it easy, I have some examples of social media templates from CreativeMarket for you to take a look at. Take a peep here:

I also have created collections of images in the royalty-free stock photo website Unsplash. There is a Christmas collection for each of the four archetypes. Each collection has at least 15 images specifically curated to represent their specific brand type. All you will need to do is select the one/s that you like best for your brand, and you can start using it!  Register here and I can send me your email and I will send you the links.

Step Five: Deck the halls

The important thing with creating a seasonal flavour for your brand is that you don’t go overboard. By incorporating a couple of elements of Christmas into your visuals you are adding the spice of the season without taking away from the brand messaging that you have worked so hard all year to develop.

So there it is. Five pretty straightforward steps to get your brand all blinged out and ready for the holiday season.

Oh, don't forget the photos!
