If you follow me on Instagram, you'll know who Rainbow is. She is the 1968 Olympic fibreglass caravan that I bought on a whim about twelve months ago. I have been renovating the old lady and the kids and I have been loving heading out on adventures.
A couple of years ago I started camping again. I loved it. The kids loved it. But the logistics of packing the car, and setting up the tent on my own, all became too much. It was a deterrent, and we stopped going.
On a road trip with my youngest brother, we started talking about all the #vanlife accounts we were seeing pop up on Instagram. It sparked the idea of getting a caravan myself. Goodness knows why. I had never towed, I had never even been in a caravan. Yet, on a whim, that's what I did.
One day I'll share some pics of the van and our renovation. But for now I wanted to share some photos of our recent trip to the gorgeous Mary Valley region. Heading out in the van is a big part of my life, so I thought you might like to see it.
Brooloo Park is a camp ground near Imbil, Queensland. The area was beautiful. An open fire, a big sky full of stars and a running creek. All the elements needed for a perfect escape.
